Question by Aidan D: What is some good tactics for an airsoft sniper with spotter to take out two enemy snipers?
I’m an airsoft sniper and I have a friend that is my spotter.
In our next match we are up against a team that has two snipers. a team of 8 in all
I am the only sniper on our team. 5 members in all…. So what is some tactics for taking out these two snipers?

All you’re going to get on Yahoo are some teenagers who’ve played too much Call of Duty and think it’s realistic.

If you know the terrain, look for irregularities. Search for signs of disturbance. Also, be silent and listen for anything that sounds like an airsoft rifle. Shooting in that general direction may flush him out and force him to move, if he’s stupid.

Also search for human-shaped silhouettes. This can be difficult; the human eye is made to detect movement before irregularities. If something is perfectly still, it will be very hard to see.

That’s all I can tell you. I have no experience with sniping.

Oh, also avoid standing up with your back towards a light source. Being silhouetted against the sun is a terrible idea. However, having the sun in front of you will cause light to reflect off your scope (and obscure your vision). Keep the sun to your left or right.

    now the area.
walk through the field before hand and find places that look good for sniping.
being a strategic kind of person i know if they are newer snipers they will look for vantage points.
what will happen is they will likely go somewhere with one way out. set trip wires attached to grenades at the bottom of there exit. this will take care of them if you can get close enough. if this is in the woods they will likely be in trees or if there are hills they will be there.
basically to take them out you have to find them because (correct me if I’m wrong) the snipers job is to camp and pick people of when near strategic assets on the field.

so find them. stick to shadows. stay away from the open. have your buddy watch your back. know the field. search strategic areas.
    good luck.

You should get to know the field you are playing in for good spots to snipe from for yourself and the opposing team. This way you will have a reference of spots to check for movement and telltale signs of someone there. You should also coordinate with your Spotter so that you are checking part of the field while he checks the rest. Patience is the key in Sniping, take your time in making your shots, expect that they will have both of their Snipers gunning for you.

playing against another sniper team is rough and often dangerous. speaking from my own experience, snipers are incredibly useful and and very crippling to both sides. i suggest taking a look at the following Army Field Manual : FM 23-10. it’ll have very basic and by the book techniques that army snipers use to stalk and counter-snipe. it takes practice but get your stalk down, get your camouflage down, and get your marksmenship down. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/library/policy/army/fm/23-10/
