Check out some TSD Sportline guns. They are relatively cheap (~$130, which is pretty good for airsoft) and shoot good velocities (around 350-380). Although they only have M4′s, those are still good guns. Although they don’t come with batteries those are very cheap and easy to find. Even more, TSD has a 60 day warranty just in case anything goes wrong. Check them out.
Dont take this the wrong way, but people always are asking this question. Its really ironic because “good” and “cheap” are not words that should be used with airsoft unless by “cheap” you mean < $200, not <$100. What I mean is there is plenty of AEG's you can find for $110-200, but the cheaper ones stink.
here is a gun which is a good start for just about everyone.
Its an M4, If it breaks, a novice can fix it. If you get bored of it, there is 1000′s of exchangeable parts and upgrades. I started with a M4 and I was always pleased with its preformance.

I recommend getting a standard M-4.
